Organic grains are used as a basic raw material for breakfast cereals, bread, pasta, muesli, and bakery products, but they also play an important role in soups, salads, sauces, and plant-based meals. Depending on the type of grain, they contribute to structure, texture, nutritional value, and satiety. Grains such as quinoa and buckwheat are popular within gluten-free and plant-based concepts, while wheat, spelt, and rye are widely used in traditional bakery and dough applications.

Within the food ingredients menu, we supply organic grains in professional bulk packaging up to 25 kg, big bags, and larger volumes for continuous production processes. In addition, we also offer retail grains under the DO IT Organic label, as well as options for private label, available in consumer packs of 125 g (pack of 6), 500 g (pack of 6), and 5 kg. In this way, we support both large-scale production and retail concepts with consistent quality and reliable supply.

Organic grains as an indispensable foundation within food production

Grains are among the most widely used and versatile food ingredients in the world. For thousands of years, they have formed the basis of daily nutrition, both in traditional cuisines and in modern food concepts. Organic grains such as wheat, maize, oats and rye continue to play a central role in bakery products, breakfast cereals, main meals and industrial recipes. Humans began collecting, storing and preparing grains approximately 20,000 years ago. It was not until thousands of years later that crops such as wheat and barley were actually domesticated. Thanks to this long history, grains have developed into stable, reliable and widely applicable ingredients within both artisanal and large-scale food production. Due to the wide variety of grains and pseudo-grains, the possible applications are virtually endless. Grains naturally contain carbohydrates, dietary fibre, B vitamins and essential minerals, making them a valuable base for balanced food products.   An additional advantage is that grains are ideally suited for bulk processing. They are efficient to transport, easy to store and have a long shelf life when stored correctly. This makes organic grains particularly attractive for food producers, foodservice and wholesalers.

Our selection of organic grains

The most well-known grain is wheat, which belongs to the grass family. In addition, our assortment also includes so-called pseudo-grains such as quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth. Botanically, these are not classified as grains, but functionally they are used in the same way within food and food production. At DO IT Organic, we offer a broad and internationally sourced range of organic grains, including millet from Germany, barley and wheat from the Netherlands, couscous from Italy, and various types of quinoa, oats and rice. All products are carefully selected based on quality, origin and suitability for professional applications. As a specialised organic wholesaler, we supply grains in a wide range of bulk packaging options, suitable for both medium-sized producers and industrial processors. In addition, selected grains are also available as   retail products   under the DO IT Organic label.

The benefits of organic grains

Organic grains contribute to a conscious and sustainable food chain. They are cultivated without synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers and retain their natural properties. This makes them suitable for a wide range of food concepts, including vegetarian, vegan and clean-label products. From breakfast products such as oats and muesli to bread, crackers and hot meals, grains form a stable base for both savoury and sweet applications. Couscous, quinoa and rice are particularly popular within balanced and plant-based diets due to their versatility and nutritional value. Grains are also widely used in desserts, bakery products and snacks. Whether used as a main ingredient, a structural component or a filling element, grains offer flexibility in recipe development and product innovation.

Combinations with other organic ingredients

Organic grains perform best when combined with other high-quality organic ingredients. When combined with legumes and beans, they create complete plant-based protein profiles, widely used in vegetarian meals, bowls and meat alternatives.   Together with seeds and kernels, grains are used in bread, granola, muesli and crackers. These combinations add extra texture, nutritional value and differentiation within breakfast and bakery products.   For savoury applications, grains are often combined with tomatoes, herbs & spices and oils & fats. This forms the basis for soups, sauces, salads and international dishes, with grains providing structure and satiety.   In sweet applications, grains pair perfectly with cocoa & carob, nuts and natural sugars & sweeteners. These combinations are widely used in biscuits, bars, desserts and breakfast products.  Thanks to these broad combination possibilities, organic grains are an indispensable link within food production, foodservice and wholesale. Whether for bulk purchasing, recipe development or finished products, grains always provide a reliable and versatile foundation.
